Welcome to Pridelands.
This game reserve is a perfect example of eco-tourism.
Located less than 15 minutes from our Gem in the bush lodge, it is a former buffalo hunting reserve.
In 2017, the fence between this 2,000 ha reserve and the Kruger was removed. The Pridelands reserve is therefore now part of the Grand Kruger (ie the area including the Kruger park and all the private reserves around the Kruger).
It is therefore, therefore, a big 5 reserve. It also serves as a training place for future guides of the South African bush.
Elephants and buffaloes are particularly present in this reserve. Many water points allow you to witness magnificent animal scenes (herd of elephants bathing and playing in the water, concentration of buffaloes ..)
Pridelands is also a reserve of choice to observe a prominent member of the Big 5: the leopard .
The safaris you will do in Pridelands are different from those in the Kruger .
Indeed, the vehicles can go off-piste which will allow you to get as close as possible to the animals.
Better than words, here are some photos that will give you a glimpse of the magic of this place.
