The road R36 <\/span> to the north marks the beginning<\/span> of this scenic route which ends<\/span> at Graskop<\/span> 72 km further south.\nIt crosses a region that belongs to the protected natural area of Blyde \u200b\u200bCanyon <\/span>.\nThe views<\/span> and the mountains <\/span>offered by this route will take your breath away . You will also discover original geological formations ( the three rondavels<\/span> , The Bourne luck potholes <\/span>, the Pinnacle <\/span>.. to name just a few ) .\n\nDon\u2019t miss the new Grakskop lift<\/span> . It is a must-see attraction .\nYou will be able to dive into a Gorge <\/span>surrounded by lush indigenous vegetation <\/span>thanks to a stunning elevator<\/span> or enjoy activities like a 130 meters long zip line\u2026<\/span>\nIf you extend your route to Sabie, 20 km further south , you will drive the famous waterfall route<\/span> and enjoy wonderful ones .\nTo do this route, you can choose your own car or one of our partners for an informative guided tour.\nFor now, I’m taking you virtually on the scenic route. The three Rondavels<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

These three rocky columns<\/span> ( mostly dolomite and quartz) that also nicknamed the three sisters <\/span>proudly dominate the landscape at more than 700 meters high.\nThey are reminiscent of the native Zulu huts<\/span> called rondavels<\/span>.\nThey are sometimes nicknamed with the expression “Chiefs troublesomes wives”<\/span>.\nIndeed, the flat top peak located right next to the 3 sisters represents Chief Mapjaneng.\nThe three rondavels <\/span>offer a beautiful mosaic of color between the green of the vegetation which covers them and that of orange and ocher of their rocky base.\nStopping at the Rondavels is therefore seeing one of the most beautiful panoramas<\/span> of South Africa . The bourne luck potholes <\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Another geological curiosity <\/span>that Mother Nature offers us. Located at the beginning of the Blyde canyon, more precisely at the confluence between the Blyde river and Treur, these are kinds of large pools<\/span> dug in the limestone rock by erosion.\nThey owe their name to an unlucky gold digger Tom Bourke<\/span> who was convinced to find gold there. You will find a lot of waterfalls <\/span>along the panorama route<\/span> , especially near Sabie town .Most owe their name<\/span> to the nationality of the miners<\/span> who flocked to the area in the 19th century.Each waterfall has a specific shape and the observation points are also different.
So for Berlin Falls<\/span> and Lisbon Falls<\/span>, you will have an aerial view while it is from their base that you can admire the spectacle of the lone creek falls <\/span>or the horse shoe falls <\/span>. Located 10 minutes drive from Grasktop, the town of Pilgrim Rest <\/span> was born during the Gold Wine Rush<\/span> of the 1800s.\nWhen visiting Pilgrim Rest<\/span>, you will feel the special atmosphere<\/span> of this era .\nIt is also a classified site <\/span>(National Heritage site) and which is therefore part of the South African heritage<\/span>.\nYou can visit a beautifully preserved and decorated museum<\/span> which tells about this fascinating time.\nIn addition, pancakes<\/span> are a specialty<\/span> of this charming city!\nIt is therefore an essential halt<\/span> on the scenic route.<\/h5>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

It is a whole new must-see<\/span> of this scenic route. This lift will take you 50 meters down<\/span> into a beautiful Gorge<\/span>.\nAt the bottom of the gorge, thanks to elevated walkways<\/span> , you will walk through a lush indigneous forest <\/span>. The must-see of this path ,a magnificent viewpoint<\/span> of the Graskop waterfall<\/span>.\nThanks to carefully placed panels<\/span>, you will learn<\/span> a lot on the local flora and fauna<\/span>.<\/h5>\n
